Last Friday, Lola invited us to Mystic for dinner at the buffet. She also got a room so the kids could hang out and go swimming. We got there and ate right away - most everyone else was already done so Auntie Ree offered to take Lorenzo up to the room with them so we could eat and he could take a nap. After dinner, Paul & I took the kids to the pool (no, we didn't drop them off Uncle Matt.......hehehe) so they could swim. Maria & Bella had fun swimming with TJ and Anthony.
Bella ended up having to wear a waterproof bandaid on her forehead because on Thursday night (approximately six hours after her stitches were removed) she decided to place her fingers on either side of her cut and pull it apart. It started to bleed right away but not too much. I kind of freaked out because I really didn't know what to do. I called Lola who told me to put steri-strips on it but we only had regular bandaids and Paul was at softball so I had to make due with what we had at the house. She told me to push the cut together and essentially 'tape' the skin back together so it could heal. All the while, Bella was hysterical - probably due in part to my reaction to her doing it. Poor girl - she said "I don't even know why I did that" and then later when I was laying with her for bedtime she said "I'm so mad at myself for doing that". I reassured her that everything was okay and mommy was sorry for making her scared but that I had been scared too - I didn't want to have to take her back to the doctor. She was fine the next morning and the skin had pretty much healed back up but it will probably leave more of a scar now........ oh well!
After the kids went swimming, Lola watched all of them in the room while Paul, Tom, Marie & I went downstairs to the casino. Paul, Tom & I played blackjack for about half an hour or so, which is the amount of time it took us to lose our $50.00. Mari-Lou had written down her 'numbers' for Paul so he wanted to go play keno for a little bit. He ended up winning back most of the $100 we lost! Those are good numbers Lola!!!! Thanks to Lola once again for her generosity!
